Mars Returns

The Mars Return is a chart set up when transiting Mars reaches the same degree every 2nd  year as the degree held in the Natal chart. The Mars Return indicates an emphasis on initiative,  actions taken, new undertakings, also in a woman’s chart the men around her. The Return usually occurs close to the Solar Return date around every second year. It takes Mars about two years to move around the whole chart.

The Mars Return is read the same as the Solar Return chart with the emphasis on the transits of the Mars through the chart. Also keep in mind this chart is only good for the length of time that it takes Mars to travel to the same degree two years from the time it is set up.

If Mars goes retrograde in the sign of your Natal Mars, at the time of the return or shortly before or after the return degree is reached, then those two years may have multiple Return Charts, one moving forward, one retrograde and moving back over the degree, and the third one moving forward over the degree once Mars goes direct again, to a maximum of three. Each chart is only good for the time that Mars reaches the degree held at the time of birth. This may then extend the Mars return period longer to 2½  to 3 years instead of the previous two year period.
